Il Museo dell'Aviazione
La prima delle strutture che si incontrano entrando nel parco è il Museo dell'Aviazione.
Il moderno padiglione che ne ospita le sale è realizzato con un design evoluto e materiali tecnologicamente molto avanzati. Si eleva su diversi piani ed espone ciò che il più delle volte non è conservato in nessuna altra parte dell'Italia e del Mondo.
Bacheche vetrate presentano al pubblico le divise e le tute da volo usate dai nostri piloti e specialisti a partire dai primi anni del Novecento: dalle divise che furono dei primi piloti provenienti dalle due armi allora esistenti (Esercito e Marina), sino a giungere alle tute da volo dei nostri attuali piloti delle Frecce Tricolori, di F-104 e Tornado (ai piani inferiori). A testimonianza della loro provenienza, in ogni bacheca sono visibili le foto che testimoniano le vicende dei militari che le indossarono. Così troviamo la Grande Uniforme estiva per Ufficiali, accanto alla foto che ritrae l'auto sfilare nelle vie centrali di New York sotto una pioggia di volantini inneggianti all'indimenticabile Traversata Atlantica, effettuata dai nostri equipaggi di idrovolanti nel 1933; la Capota Manta indossata dai nostri Ufficiali Piloti durante la Guerra di Spagna (1936) e l'uniforme da Ufficiale Meharista (truppe a cammello italiane). Oltre a queste foto, se ne possono apprezzare altre che ritraggono azioni di guerra, combattimenti aerei o bombardamenti ed i loro effetti, o semplicemente i piloti e gli aerei che celebrano il raggiungimento di un prestigioso primato. Nel grande caveau sotterraneo si possono ammirare centinaia di decorazioni, onorificenze e medaglie, molte delle quali conferite ai più grandi personaggi dell’epoca: Gabriele d’Annunzio, Aldo Finzi, Benito Mussolini, Italo Balbo ed altri ancora (non potendo elencarle tutte in questa sede ricordiamo che ben 24 pezzi sono unici al mondo, mancano cioè anche nella collezione del Museo di Stato).
Oltre a tutto questo materiale rigorosamente originale, degli aerei ormai irrimediabilmente perduti ne vengono conservate le foto o ne sono stati ricostruiti i modelli in scala ridotta. Sempre ad opera di validi modellisti è anche il grande diorama rappresentante le fasi più importanti (decollo e ammaraggio) dei famosi Siai SM.55, i celebri aerei che tanta gloria dettero all’Italia negli anni '30, effettuando l'avventuroso volo transatlantico con ventiquattro idrovolanti che, decollando da Orbetello via Irlanda, Islanda, Polo Nord e Canada raggiunsero il Lago Michigan nei pressi di Chicago. In un'apposita sala, infine, vengono proiettati i filmati con le immagini riprese dagli operatori cinematografici dell'epoca, e quant'altro possa ancora ricordare i tempi nei quali gareggiavamo e vincevamo con paesi all'avanguardia nel campo aeronautico come Stati Uniti, Inghilterra, Francia e Germania.
All’esterno, troviamo invece i velivoli, anche già in parte citati, come lo storico Saiman 202, i Republic F-84F ed RF, gli A.B. 47G2 e G3, i G.91 P.A.N., R e T, i Piaggio P.148 e 166, gli altri Fiat G.46, G.222, North American F-86K e T-6, Lochkeed T-33, Aermacchi MB.326, Grumman e DC-3 (Aeromisure, in fase di restauro), 18 differenti esemplari tutti appartenuti ai vari reparti dell’A.M.I.. Inoltre è in mostra la rassegna quasi completa delle armi contraeree (dal Bofors 40 mm., alla Flak 8,8 cm, al 3,7 inch. inglese della II Guerra Mondiale, al moderno Sam-2) ed una ancor più significativa rivista di motori d’aviazione, da quelli in linea, ai radiali, ai boxer (elicottero) a pistoni, per finire con i vari tipi di turbine.
Completano infine la mostra svariati mezzi di servizio all’aviazione: dalle postazioni radar mobili, ai camion antincendio, ai rifornitori d’ossigeno e tanto d’altro.

The Aviation Museum
The Aviation Museum is situated inside the theme park. The pavilion that houses the museum's rooms has a modern design and it was built using technologically advanced materials. The museum is set out on several different floors and in many cases, the exhibits on display are unique and cannot be found in any other museum in Italy or overseas.
Inside the museum, the public can admire uniforms and flying suits used by our pilots and engineers, housed in glass showcases. All the uniforms are presented in chronological order, starting just to the right of the entrance, where uniforms (dating from the 1900's) belonging to the first pilots of the only armed forces existing at the time, the Army and the Navy, are displayed. On the lower floors, visitors will find flying suits that belong to current "Frecce Tricolori" (the Italian air force aerial display team), F-104, and Tornado pilots. To bear witness to the exhibits' origins, each showcase contains photographs of the soldiers who wore the uniforms and details of the historic context regarding each uniform. Visitors will find the Officers' Grand Summer Uniform alongside a photograph that shows a car parading through the streets of central New York under a shower of leaflets, with the crowds celebrating the unforgettable Atlantic Crossing made by our hydroplane crews in 1933. There is also a "Capota Manta" worn by our Air force pilots during the Spanish War and the uniform of the Meharist Officers, Italian camel-borne troops. As well as these photographs, there are others that portray war scenes, aerial combats or bombardments and their effect or simply, the pilots and airplanes that celebrate the achievement of a prestigious supremacy.In the large underground vault there are hundreds of decorations, honours and medals on display, many of which were awarded to some of the greatest figures of the time such as Gabriele d'Annunzio, Aldo Finzi, Benito Mussolini, Italo Balbo, as well as many others. Amongst the rarities dating from the period of the realm, we should mention the "Collare dell'Annunziata", the "Ordine della Besa in Oro", General Pellegrini's gold medal and medals awarded to other great heroes (it is impossible to name them all here but we remind visitors that 24 pieces are unique and are even missing therefore, from the collection in the State Museum). Having expounded the historical context linked to the issue of all the medals, the guides also comment on the techniques used to make them. The objective of the creators of this theme park was in fact, to build an aviation information and cultural centre and numerous parties and above all school groups, especially in spring, come from all over Italy to visit the museum.
As well as this original material, there are photographs showing many airplanes that have now been irremediably lost, and reduced scale models have been recreated. Expert model enthusiasts have also created a large diorama that represents the most important phases of the take off and mooring of the famous Siai SM.55, the celebrated airplanes that brought Italy such glory in the 1930's. In fact, they were used in the adventurous trans-Atlantic flight when twenty-four hydroplanes took off from Orbetello and flew via Ireland, Iceland, the North Pole and Canada, finally reaching Lake Michigan, near Chicago. The photographs and documents are commented on by guides that explain the considerable importance of this feat, to the extent that General Italo Balbo, commanding officer of the legendary team, was invited to take the Italian airplanes to New York where their crews triumphantly paraded through the streets, escorted by an impressive mounted police presence, feted by hundreds of thousands of people, amongst them numerous Italian-Americans. Finally, in a special room, films showing images taken by cinematographic operators of the period are projected, as well as other clips that recall the period in which we competed against countries that were leaders in the field of aviation such as the United States, England, France and Germany, and won.
