Fiat G. 91T
Il G.91 è l'unico aereo da combattimento di progettazione e costruzione interamente nazionale, operativo nelle Forze Aeree Italiane. Il G.91 è nato da una specifica stabilita dopo la Conferenza NATO del 1952 che prevedeva un aereo per l'Alleanza con un peso a vuoto inferiore ai 2.200 Kg., capace di operare nel ruolo di attacco da campi non preparati, decollando in meno di 1.100 metri, con velocità di almeno 0,95 Mach e massima facilità di manutenzione. L'aereo è stato prodotto in quattro versioni principali: G.91R (monomotore monoposto), G.91 P.A.N. (variante dell'R destinato all'acrobazia), G.91T (trainer, monomotore biposto destinato all'addestramento), G.91Y (bireattore monoposto). La FIAT, che era già in avanzato stato di progettazione di un aereo analogo, si aggiudicò la commessa. Così questo nostro velivolo andò ad equipaggiare le Aeronautiche Militari di: Germania, Portogallo oltre, naturalmente, a quella italiana. Il G.91T è stato impiegato quasi esclusivamente per compiti di collegamento e addestramento. L'esemplare in mostra al Parco Tematico dell'Aviazione era in forza alla SVBAA (Scuola Volo Basico Avanzato Aviogetti di Amendola-Foggia).
The G. 91 was the only post-war fighter designed and built entirely in Italy to serve in that country's airforce after the Second World War. A list of specifications drawn up in a 1952 NATO conference for an aircraft suitable for use by members of the alliance called for a plane with an unloaded weight of less than 2200 kg, capable of flying attack missions from unprepared take-off strips in less than 1100 metres, together with a top speed of at least 0.95 Mach and extreme simplicity of maintenance. Fiat had a plane at an advanced stage of development that satisfied all these requisites, and won the contract, supplying aircraft to the airforces of West Germany and Portugal as well as to that of Italy. Four main versions of the plane were produced, the G. 91 R, a single-jet-one-seater, the G. 91 PAN, a variant of the R version developed for the national aerobatics team, the G. 91 Y twin-jet one-seater, and the G. 91 T, a single-jet two-seater trainer. The G. 91 T has been used almost exclusively as a liaison plane and a trainer, mainly by the SVBAA Basic and Advanced Jet School based at Amendola near Foggia.
Die G.91 ist das einzigste italienische Kampfflugzeug, welches komplett in Italien konzipiert und konstruiert wurde, und in die Reihen der Italienischen Luftstreitkräfte getreten ist. Als Gewinnerin einer NATO-Ausschreibung von 1952, die ein Flugzeug für die Alleanz vorsah, sollte sie folgende Charakteristik haben: eine Leermasse unter 2.200 kg, einsetzbar für den Erdkampf, sie sollte weniger als 1.100 m Startfläche benötigen, eine Geschwindigkeit von mindestens 0,95 Mach erreichen und einen geringen Wartungsaufwand haben. Das Flugzeug wurde in 4 Hauptversionen produziert: als G.91R einmotoriger Einsizter, G.91 PAN Variante des R für die Nationale Akrobatikgruppe, G.91Y zweistrahliger Einsitzer und die G.91 T (Trainer) einmotoriger Zweisitzer zur Ausbildung. FIAT, die bereits an einem Projekt eines ähnlichen Flugzeuges arbeiteten, erhielt den Auftrag. So rüstete unser Flugzeug die Luftstreitkräfte Deutschlands, Portugals und natürlich Italiens aus.Die G.91 T wurde fast ausschließlich für Aufgaben von Verbindungsflügen und zur Ausbildung eingesetzt, hier bei der SVBAA (Amendola-Foggia).
