Pod GP-9

Pod per l'alloggiamento del cannone binato da 23 mm GSh 23L con capacità di 200 colpi ed una frequenza di tiro di 3.400 colpi al minuto. Il MiG-21 PF fu scelto dall'Aeronautica Militare Indiana, che ne doveva acquistare un certo numero, dopo una valutazione comparativa con altri tra i numerosi caccia disponibili sul mercato di tutto il mondo. Dai piloti fu però ravvisata una certa carenza di fuoco del velivolo che era armato con due soli razzi, anche non eccessivamente precisi. I tecnici sovietici per risolvere il problema in tempi relativamente brevi (l'India utilizzerà i suoi velivoli contro il Pakistan nel 1971) idearono questa gondola completamente autonoma che portava i due cannoni nella parte anteriore ed i colpi alloggiati posteriormente. Il Pod veniva montato in posizione ventrale, sugli stessi attacchi del serbatoio ausiliare, con la sola giunta di un collegamento elettrico.

MiG 21 fighters had been chosen by the Indian Air Force, that decided to commission a remarkable number of pieces after a comparative evaluation of many other fighters available all over the world, but it was found that the that the aircraft gun equipment wasn't competitive: it only had two, and even not sufficiently sharp, missiles. To find a quick solution to the problem ù(MiG 21 was used by India in 1971, while fighting against Pakistan) the Soviet technicians created this completely self-cotained pod with two guns on its front side and rear cartridges. The pod was positioned under the aircraft using the very junctures of the auxiliary tanks.

Pod zur Unterbringung von 2 Doppelkanonen 23 mm mit 200 Schuss und einer Schussfrequenz von 3400 Schuss pro Minute. Die indische Luftwaffe, die eine bestimmte Anzahl von Jagdflugzeugen benötigte, hatte nach einer Vergleichsschätzung in der ganzen Welt sich für die MiG 21 PF entschieden. Aber die Bewaffnung des Flugzeuges war unzulänglich, da es nur 2 Raketen hatte, die nicht einmal sehr präzis waren. Um das Problem in relativ kurzer Zeit zu lösen (Indien benutzte die MiG-21 1971 gegen Pakistan) entwarfen die sowjetischen Ingenieure diese vollkommen autonome Gondel, mit 2 Kanonen im Vorderteil und den Schusspatronen im Hinterteil. Diese Gondel wurde unter dem Rumpf an diesselben Aufhängungen der Zusatzbehälter montiert.
