Agusta Bell A.B. 47G2
Di concezione americana, ma costruito su licenza anche in Italia, il Bell 47G è uno dei primi elicotteri ad operare nel nostro Paese. Il "47" vola per la prima volta l'8 dicembre 1945. Due Bell 47-D, acquistati dal Ministero dell'Agricoltura, vengono impiegati nel 1949 in Sardegna in una campagna antimalarica. L'impiego militare di tre Bell 47-D1 si concretizza nel 1952, tanto che lo Stato Maggiore dell'A.M.I., con la presenza di due Westland Sikorsky S-51, forma un Reparto Addestramento Elicotteri presso l'aeroporto Roma-Urbe. Il primo esemplare di Agusta Bell 47G vola in Italia il 22 maggio 1954, dando inizio alla costruzione di serie che porterà allo sviluppo del Centro Addestramento Elicotteri di Frosinone. Chiamato affettuosamente "Gigetto" dagli equipaggi italiani, l'A.B.47G ha operato anche presso il 15° e 31° Stormo, negli aeroporti di Pratica di Mare, Centocelle, Roma Ciampino e nei reparti dell'Esercito, della Guardia di Finanza e dei Carabinieri. L'esemplare in mostra è appartenuto alla S.V.E. (Scuola Volo Elicotteri) di Frosinone.
The American-designed Bell 47G, produced under licence in Italy, was one of the first helicopters to be used in this country. The Bell 47 first flew on 8 December 1945, and in 1949, two Bell 47-D’s purchased by the Italian Minster of Agriculture were used to spray mosquito breeding grounds in an anti-malaria campaign in Sardinia. In 1952, three Bell 47-D1’s and two Westland-Sikorsky S-51’s were brought together to form the first Helicopter Training Unit of the Italian Air Force, stationed at Rome’s Urbe Airport. An agreement between Bell and the Italian company Agusta, based at Cascina-Costa, resulted in the first flight of the Agusta-Bell 47G on 22 May 1954, and shortly after production started a Helicopter Training Centre was set up at Frosinone. The AB.47G has also served with the 15th and 31st Wings of the Italian Air Force, operating out of the Rome airports of Pratica di Mare, Centocelle and Ciampino, as well as with several units of the Italian army, inland revenue corps and police forces. The helicopter seen here belonged to the Helicopter Flying School at Frosinone.
Aus amerikanischer Produktion stammend, war der Bell 47-G, der auch seine Lizenzproduktion in Italien hatte, einer der ersten Hubschrauber, die in unserem Land operierten. Der "47-er" flog zum ersten Mal am 8. Dezember 1945. Zwei vom Italienischen Landwirschaftsministerium erworbene Bell-47D wurden in Sardinien 1949 in einer Kampagne gegen die Malaria eingesetzt. Der militärische Einsatz von 3 Bell 47-D1 ereignete sich 1952, so dass der Stab der A.M.I. (Italienische Luftwaffe) mit zwei "Westland-Sikorsky S-51" die Ausbildungsabteilung für Hubschrauber auf dem Flugplatz Roma-Urbe bildete. Das erste Exemplar der Agusta-Bell 47G flog in Italien am 22. Mai 1954, gab somit den Weg für die Serienproduktion frei, und es konnte infolgedessen später das Hubschrauber-Ausbildungszentrum in Frosinone aufgebaut werden. Liebevoll "Gigetto" von den italienischen Besatzungen genannt, operierte der AB.47G auch in den Abteilungen der Armee, der Finanzpolizei und der Carabinieri. Das ausgestellte Modell gehörte der S.V.E. (Hubschrauber Flugschule) von Frosinone an.
