North American T-6 "Texan"
Il North American T-6 è uno dei più noti velivoli da addestramento del mondo, con la sigla NA-16 compì a Baltimora il suo primo volo il 1° Aprile 1935. Costruito in migliaia di esemplari durante e dopo la IIa Guerra Mondiale, il T-6 partecipa anche ai numerosi conflitti successivi: Corea, Vietnam, Congo, Biafra, Medio Oriente e America Latina. L'ultimo volo di un T-6 italiano si compie nel Febbraio 1980. Nelle principali versioni AT-6A, AT-6C e AT-6D il "Texan" viene utilizzato da innumerevoli paesi dei quali i principali sono stati: Stati Uniti, Gran Bretagna, Canada, Italia e Francia. Nella versione da addestramento il T-6 era armato con una mitragliatrice calibro 0.30" posizionata sul profilo dell'ala destra, oppure "in caccia" sincronizzata con l'elica. L'esemplare esposto, prima di essere consegnato all'A.M.I., venne ricondizionato dall'USAF come T-6D e porta, i codici e i colori, della 358ª Squadriglia dell'Accademia Aeronautica di Pozzuoli (Na). The North American T-6 is one of the world's most famous trainers, and as the NA-16 it made its first flight at Baltimore on 1 April 1936. Thousands of these aircraft were built during and after World War II, and they took part in later fighting in Korea, Vietnam, the Congo, Biafra, the Middle East and South America. In its main AT-6A, AT-6C and AT-6D versions, the Texan was used by the air forces of many countries, including the US, Britain, Canada, Italy and France. The last flight by an italian T-6 was made in 1980. In the trainer version, the T-6 was equipped with a 0,30 mm machine gun on the right wing, while the, gun of the fighter version was syncronized with the propeller, as in the plane seen here, which carries the insigna of the 358th Squadron of the Pozzuoli Aeronautical Academy (Naples). The plane is a T-6C, although this version was reconverted by the US Air Force as the T-6D.
Die North-American T-6 ist eine der bekanntesten Ausbildungsflugzeuge der Welt. Mit der Abkürzung Na-16 führte sie in Baltimore ihren ersten Flug am 1.April 1935 aus. Während und nach dem 2. Weltkrieg wurde sie in tausend Exemplaren konstruiert und nahm auch an den zahlreichen nachfolgenden Konflikten in Korea, Vietnam, Kongo, Biafra, im Mittelorient und in Lateinamerika teil. Den letzten Flug führte eine italienische T-6 im Februar 1980 aus. In den Hauptversionen AT-6A, AT-6C und AT-6D wurde die "Texan" von unzähligen Ländern, darunter die USA, England, Canada, Italien und Frankreich benutzt. In der Trainer-Version war die T-6 mit einem MG Kaliber 30 bewaffnet, das auf dem Profil des rechten Flügels positioniert, oder als Jagdflugzeug mit dem Propeller synchronisiert war (wie das ausgestellte Exemplar zeigt). Das ausgestellte Exemplar trägt die Farben und den Code der Flug-Akademie von Pozzuoli (Neapel). M.M. 53042
